Marquette University Students Tell It Like It Is

Marquette might be a school all about balance. It seems that there's a yin and yang to almost every aspect.

"I have found that most of my teachers have been friendly, interesting people. Occasionally, you come across one you may not see eye-to-eye with, but most of them have been very accommodating of opposing viewpoints and treat students fairly and like adults."

"Greek life is present but definitely does not dominate the social scene."

"There are lots of cute guys, lots of cute girls, and lots of dorks, too."

"Okay, I'm gonna level with you on this one: the food here sucks, but you get used to it, and you'll learn where the best places to eat are. The good news is that there are a lot of options in the surrounding area. There's a Jimmy John's and a Subway right near McCormick and Schroeder Halls (at the center of campus) and there are pizza places and other little restaurants all over town, as well. Downtown has some great ones, too."

Some good things:

Lake Michigan
Constant updates/renovations

Some not-so-good things:
High-priced expenses/tuition
Unpredictable weather
No diversity
Sporadic stenches from the lake or yeast
